Volunteered for Habitat for Humanity build day with my Sacramento Association of Realtors colleagues!

I had no idea how difficult it is to assemble scaffolding...I have an entirely new appreciation for it! Yesterday, along with a dozen or so of my Sacramento Association of Realtors colleagues, we assembled scaffolding for a few homes in the Habitat for Humanity Mandolin Estates Community. That is hard work, and it all has to be super sturdy and level. That scaffolding will be used to support future volunteers who install trusses, siding, windows, paint, roofing, solar, etc. It will be so neat to visit the community again in a few months when construction is complete. The people who get to purchase these new construction homes have to put in 500 hours of "sweat equity" at the community and work side-by-side with other volunteers. We had the opportunity to meet one of the future homeowners -- he and his wife and three children live in a one-bedroom apartment and are SO EXCITED to have the opportunity to purchase an affordable home.
