Reason to Celebrate! I was elected to the Sacramento Association of Realtors Board of Directors!

NOTE: I borrowed this baby to create a photo of a "political cliche." I have been asked by several folks if this is my baby! For the record, I do not have any children.

If you have been reading this blog for any length of time, you will know that a few months ago I was nominated to run for a position on the Sacramento Association of Realtors Board of Directors. I have been campaigning since the end of May, setting up a 'Vote4Erin' campaign website, visiting many other real estate offices, speaking to other Realtors, even recording a campaign video at the association for distribution to the membership...there were 9 Realtors running for 6 open positions, and all candidates were very well qualified.

Well, today I got the phone call I had been eagerly anticipating! Waaahoooooooo! I am absolutely thrillled, honored, and humbled that the members of the association did indeed elect me, little old Erin Attardi, to serve a 2-year term. I may celebrate with an ice cream cone later. =)

Last week I did an interview with Michael Shaw of the Sacramento Business Journal about Sacramento home buyers and their motivation to purchase homes with (or without) the state and federal tax credits. He also interviewed one of my dear buyer clients...and they did a photo shoot. The article appears in this week's edition of the Sacramento Business Journal.

I have noticed that most of the buyers I have been working with, in all price ranges, were not deterred by the sunset of the home buyer tax credit...buyers had to be in contract by April 30th, 2010, and originally were supposed to have closed escrow by June 30th, though that date was extended to September 30th, 2010 due to the extended escrow time periods associated with negotiating short sales.

It's Official! I am a Dunnigan Realtor working out of the Land Park Sacramento Office!!

So, today is a special day.

Why, you ask? Well as of today, August 9th, 2010, I am officially a Dunnigan Realtor! And I am very excited about it. I know, I know...just last week I blogged about how I was the #1 Listing Agent at my former Lyon Real Estate Sierra Oaks office for the month of July. Welp, I didn't just wake up this morning and decide to switch brokers. This move has been a long time in the making, with a lot of careful planning. I was excited to finally be fully prepared to "pull the trigger" and make the move...there really is no good time to make a transition of this nature, but I have been hard at work making sure that the move is totally seamless for my buyer and seller clients.

To make a long story short...I will start by saying that Lyon Real Estate is truly a great company, and I will never have a bad thing to say about it or the years I spent as an agent there. The firm is solid and well managed, and is one of the largest real estate companies in our region. BUT, it ain't Dunnigan, Realtors.

Dunnigan, Realtors is small boutique real estate company. It is family owned and operated by some great people, and was founded in 1949. Dunnigan operates on one core philosophy that serves as the cornerstone of its business...The Golden Rule. “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” This philosophy is reflected every day in their commitment to superior service, market knowledge, and professional integrity. The Realtors who work at Dunnigan are amazing, and the there is a family-like camaraderie amongst them. The culture is much different than my former company, and they do not necessarily recognize its "top producing agents" in the same manner. So, no more preferred parking for me for being the top listing agent (or whatever)...but I gladly give that up to work here. Dunnigan, Realtors has two office locations (Sierra Oaks and Land Park in Sacramento). I think my buyer and seller clients will benefit greatly from my affiliation with them.

So, I will be working just a stone's throw from my home, in the Dunnigan Land Park office on Freeport Blvd, directly across from William Land Park. I am really excited...

Wahoo! #1 Listing Agent for Lyon Real Estate Sierra Oaks Office for 4th time 2010!

WAHOO! If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter, you will already know that today I learned that I was again the #1 listing agent in my Lyon Real Estate Sierra Oaks office for the month of July. What is completely insane - of the first seven months of 2010, I have been the top listing agent in my office for four of them (January, February, April, and now July)...in addition to earning that "Top Listing Agent" designation multiple times last year, and the year before that.
