Last year around this time, I posted information regarding the Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District's designated "Spare the Air" days where you can not burn wood in your fireplace. Their "No Burn" days are still in effect this year too.
You can actually sign up for email alerts from the Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District.
Check Before You Burn is in effect in Sacramento County and its cities: Citrus Heights, Elk Grove, Folsom, Galt, Isleton, Rancho Cordova, and Sacramento.
I heard on the radio yesterday that there are 70 enforcement officers out looking for illegal burning on No Burn days, and the fines are $1,000! YIKES!
